Not the most creative way to chronicle the last few weeks, but here are some random pics of what we’ve had going on lately!

A few weeks ago we went to Greg and Al’s and brought pizza for dinner – it was definitely a different dinner experience with four little ones!

two weekends ago we had a papa-son and mama-daughter getaway weekend.  Scott took Owen to the cottage and I went to WI to visit Kate and Megan. 

Owen and Papa went camping one  night they were at the cottage, so they set the tent up ahead of time at home, Owen thought it was SO fun! and camping was a huge success.  Don’t have pics of their weekend away yet, but will post them soon!

Owen even got a new swim suit (a mickey one, at that) to bring with him and he was SO proud of himself (can you tell?)

In WI – we had some fabulous meals at home, and I even made my maiden voyage to Sonic!  The girls loved playing together and we had a great time just hanging out, catching up, shopping, and even made some cute headbands for the girls! :) I didn’t take many pics so there will be more pics to come of our trip too, but here are some cute ones of Megan and Sydney!

Last weekend we all went to the cottage together, and Uncle Travis and Gran even came along too!!

Friday night we had a HUGE storm and the electricity went out, but that didn’t stop these die hard puzzler-doers!  (candles and head lamps and at one point even the solar lights from down at the dock came up to help them see!)

Owen and Uncle Travis had a great time paddle boating and fishing!

Five Months

A little late on this post, but its here nonetheless!  Sydney was five months at the beginning of this month! Time needs to S-L-O-W down!!!

What has miss Sydney been up to lately?

• Wears size 1-2 diapers
• Wears size 3-6 month clothes – some 6-9 month
• Discovered that she could eat her feet  (August 3)

• Tried rice cereal for first time  (August 10)

 

• Had formula for the first time EVER in cereal (mid Aug)
• Typical daily routine: wakes up @ 645, nurses, goes down for a nap by 8:30.  Naps every 2-3 hours for about 30 min to 2 hrs.  Nurses or takes a bottle again @ 10, 1, 4, 7/730 – and eats cereal 2 X per day around 11 and 6.  Goes down for bed after last feeding and sleeps through the night! the girl loves her sleep!

• Sleeping through the night started @ the end of July/early August (almost 5 mos)
• Rolled over back to front (Aug 12) - still hasn't done front to back
• Loves to blows raspberries – especially when she’s eating cereal!
• Laughs out loud a lot especially around her big  bro; he’s her best friend, and he loves her too! tries to be just like her!

• Has the bluest most beautiful eyes; and her eyelashes are so curly and long

• Nicknames are still littles, peanut, pretty and Owen calls her ‘littleicious’
• Still not sitting up very well, and still kinda a bobble head! she sits in her bumbo and in her jumparoo – but gets tired pretty quick
• Loves to kick and kick when she's getting changed or you're playing with her on the ground, she looks like she’s trying to ride a bike!
• Sleeps best with her blankets pulled over her face (danger, danger! I know! but I’ve tried to put her to bed without a blanket and it just DOESN’T work!!)

• Gets so excited when she sees her favorite people - and if you're holding her when she sees someone special…watch out, she'll practically jump out of your arms, she gets all wobbly!
• Loves to get all dressed up!

• Is the sweetest most loveable little baby girl, and has a smile that will make your heart melt!  we love you, Littles! :) 

And now for the monthly photo shoot with bear and froggy…I’m usually so good about taking these pics on time, but one morning as we were getting ready for school I realized I had forgotten to take them, so these were only about a week late, but taken at 7am! She’s still super happy even that early! :)

Fishin and Clownin Around

Just a quick post – definitely have a lot to write about and lots of pics to share – but no time now. Instead, a couple of videos…

This weekend – Owen got lots of fishin in – and mastered the art of casting…check him out!

And here is a snippet from a typical night at the ‘House of Kole’

yes, I am terrified of clowns, so why this nose made its way into my house is because Scott went to a Tiger’s game last week (where it was ‘clown day’ -thank goodness I didn’t go with him) – they gave away clown noses at the gate and he brought it home for Owen – who thought it was the best thing EVER – so he had fun entertaining himself with the nose while pushing around his ‘buggy’ with his truck and juice inside. All the while, miss Sydney was chillin out on the table waiting to eat and blowing raspberries! Can’t help but love my life! :)

So…the birthday festivities for Owen continued… (i did update his 2 yr post with some other pics, but here are even more!)

Wanted to just say thank you to everyone who made Owen’s SECOND birthday a fun, memorable one!! :)

Owen had fun the other day trying out this cool straw that doubles as a pair of glasses! I let him color some water with food coloring (of course he picked ‘LELLOW’!) And he had it figured out in no time…

Henry, Loretta, Greg and Al came over a couple of weekends ago they brought Owen a birthday gift and the babes all got to hang out! and in between calming babes, changing diapers, and such the adults got to hang out too!

Tummy time! Loretta was kinda fussy, and Al had been wanting to try my wrap, so we managed a not so good wrap of our own, but apparently it was good enough, cuz Loretta was OUT like a light immediately – and quite deep in thought!

Last week Owen got a package in the mail! It was a roller coaster from Aunt Barbara and Uncle Richard for Owen’s birthday! He loved it, can’t you tell?! even had to try to use it like a slide and go down without the car….

Linda and Jim came to visit and play with Owen and Sydney before they headed off to Vegas (or “Wegas, BABY” as Owen says)

We had a jumparoo in the basement that aunt jen let us borrow and it occurred to me the other day that Sydney might be big enough for it so we hauled it up and set it up…she likes it but can only for a few minutes at a time.
