For Halloween this year…we had a little snow white/bumble bee and a fire fighter…
Syd dressed up as a bumblebee when we went to a halloween birthday party and also when we went to the ‘treats n trails’ at the outdoor discovery center…but when it came time for trick or treating, she insisted on being snow ‘wipe’.
best shot I could get of the two of them….syd was just ready to get her trick or treating on….!
For the last three years now, we’ve met up @ Paul sister, Toni’s house and have just walked to go trick or treating on the way to a few different churches for ‘trunk or treating’ – lots of fun and lots of kiddos…in super cute costumes!! :)
Trick or Treat!!!
fun games set up in one of the churches that we stopped off at…
Tried to get owen to wear this costume – he at least humored me by trying it on, but would NOT be a dragon in public.period.
but it was oh.so.cute. the little buns on it moved back and forth when he walked! :)
Outdoor discovery center…with Kylie and Steph….lots of fun animals and stuff to see…but seriously FREEZING, so we didn’t stay long…just long enough to get a big haul of goodies! ;)
we even saw grandma and d and kenz there too! but we were turning to icicles, so we played a few games and then had to leave…
my little bumble bee! :)
Fun halloween this year, and we didn’t even carve pumpkins…and the kids could have cared less…we still have TONS of candy left already almost two months later…think its time to throw it out…that and the pumpkins (that still sit on our porch) – wow did i just admit that. yup. i did throw out the rotten one…the other three have surprisingly held up pretty well! :)

Tying the Knot
October was a big month for our family! My baby brother got married!!!
some pics from one of her showers…
we did a photo scavenger hunt – we split into two teams and had to take pics of things about the future bride and groom…
this one was my mom’s team’s take on the future bride and groom’s first date…
this one is a pic of ‘someone in your group in a wedding dress’
there were many other pics and people got pretty creative! our team stalked someone in walgreens – for the pic on the list to ‘get a pic of someone who looks like the future groom’ – we actually found someone who fit the bill – but he was shopping for something we thought he might be kind of embarrassed about – so we eventually left him alone! :)
Her bachelorette party started at New Holland…the moms were even invited – but they bailed after dinner….
opening lingere in front of her future mother in law…lol…
shots at the Itty Bitty…we had such a fun night!! :)
Katy was very ambitious and did ALOT of things on her own for the wedding. She asked for my help with the programs and we had a little assembly night to get them all put together. they turned out so cute!
Their rehearsal dinner was at the bowling alley and was SUCH a fun time. They had just opened up a new private room and it was just perfect for the rehearsal party!
They had a little bride and groom made from bowling pins – kinda cute/kinda creepy. :) They also had a huge screen that we were able to put pictures up of them…owen and syd thought it was so amazing to see them on ‘tv’ :)
aunt barb and uncle richard hanging out w the kiddos!
dinner was catered by an amazing duo of women ...sooooo good
the kids thought the dark bowling was such a ball (LOL)
Friday morning I went with Katy and one of her sisters to get our hair done….
Papa getting owen all handsome….
cuteness…
the table settings (this was during the day before the centerpieces got put out – the big dark circles are sections of tree cut down and stained…it was so pretty and rustic and went so well with the fall weather we had.
these two had the dance floor to themselves for quite a bit and really tore it up – they were soooooo stinkin cute!!!
Unfortunately, I don’t have a pic of the bride and groom on their wedding day; but I do have a link to their entire wedding album that I’ll share:

What an perfectly beautiful day and we’re so lucky to have Katy as a new addition to our family! :)
perhaps the most amazing pic of the day was one of my mom – she went out with a group of people after we had to pack up the reception…someone texted me this picture later that night…wow. there are no other words.

Papa’s Birthday
Scott’s birthday was at the end of October and the kiddos and I wanted to make him a cake…they were SO excited about making it, but even more excited about decorating it!! Owen wanted it to have a squirrel with a funny nut on it…and luckily..we had a squirrel and an acorn toy along with many other animals…and superheroes that made it on the cake…stay tuned for the splendor!
SO happy to help mama mix up the cake
Very serious about it!
Per owen’s suggestion, we hid the cake in his closet from papa…
the final product…there are trees, a wolf, a funny nut, a squirrrel, dory from Nemo…and even spiderman, all haphazardly placed with love on papa’s cake! Papa said it was the best cake anyone had ever made for him!!!
had to include this second shot too bc syd’s face cracks me up. think she could be any more excited?!
After cake time, we headed out to Post family farm to pick out pumpkins..it was amazingly warm that night…and we had an awesome time!!!
so into it!!!
notice: the tongue sticking out, the shirt lifted up due to the sheer mass of the pumpkin that probably weighed about 1/3 of her body weight..and the dino boots…she begs to wear them quite often!
my little babies in the pumpkin patch…
riding the tractor train
and mmmm.cider!!!
What a fun birthday party for Papa!! :
