The Fourth of July…in Pictures

We spent the weekend of the 4th at Scott’s parents’ cottage in Ludington.  The whole fam was up there and we had a ton of fun, and lots of relaxing!  Here are some pics to recap our mini vacation…

Walking! (well almost)

Unfortunately about halfway through our trip, our battery went dead in our camera and we didn’t have our charger with us.  Thankfully there are lots of paparazzi in the family – so there are many more pictures to make up for the ones we didn’t take!! :)

What an awesome relaxing weekend full of firsts for little Owen!  Thanks to mom and dad Kole for having us and to everyone for some great memories!

Sleeping

Owen has been playing hard lately, now that he has learned how to crawl and stand on his own - and with that comes sleeping hard as well....

Here he is after he fell asleep sitting up and playing in his crib...

...his other leg is right under his cheek!

so peaceful...

ELEVEN - how can that be?

Yup, he's eleven months old!!

What is that little man up to these days?

  • Well, for starters - just TODAY he realized he can crawl
  • He finally realized he can pick food up and feed himself (on Sunday)
  • He loves to read

  • can blow kisses
  • thinks its a hilarious game to have papa blow in his face

which prompts him to pull crazy faces...

  • is utterly dependent upon his little frog friend for naps and bedtime
  • his vocab consists of: ducka, dada, quack, guk (book)
  • points to everything
  • shakes his head no
  • wears 18 month clothes / size 3 diapers
  • sleeps about 10 hours/night
  • takes 2 naps/day
  • makes 'vroom' noises whenever he plays with a car or truck

    oh....

    and did I mention...

He *graduated* from wearing his helmet!!! Yup, as of Tuesday, his head is within normal range and the helmet is no more!

    As tradition demands...Froggy Buddy photos

the older he gets the harder it is...I tried enticing him with something fun to hold on to...

then...he decided he didn't want anything to do with pictures anymore...

I managed somehow to sneak this one in...it will have to do! (even though he is gouging froggy's eye out :) ! )

Just Letters?

A few months ago, I made the committment to earn a Proffessional in Human Rescources (PHR) certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).

After three full days of in class training, reading, studying SHRM course materials, and taking practice tests like it was going out of style...

I am proud to report, I've earned my letters!

Though, they're more than just letters you see...they represent: long hours of studying; learning through application of my knowledge at work; dedication and committment to something in addition to my two full time jobs; but most of all, they represent my capabilities both in HR and life in general - I can accomplish anything if I set my mind to it! :)

Loungin' & Legos

Just a quick picture post today...

Owen's new favorite thing to do is lounge on my lap and drink his juice (can't say I mind the cuddle time!)

Murph likes to join in and we all sit on the floor and watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! (can you say...meeshka mooshka, mickey mouse? totally rad!)

Papa got out the Legos tonight and Owen decided to spell out his name....

this is his determined look...

the masterpiece... (will be destroyed!) :)
