Christmas Take 3 – Christmas Prep & Fun

 

These little goobers were so excited to get all the Christmas decorations up that they even let me take their pictures together and posed so cute :)  (more on the tree decorating process later in this post…)

but that was short lived…

no more pics…the socks and shoes came off… 

my little santa…for the past couple of years we’ve put the kids in this costume – its a size 18 months but we make it work…lol…

my little camel (and his stare down) dressed up for the special children’s service – they read the Christmas story and let the kids help act it out…

each of the kids in owen’s class got to play someone from the Christmas story..owen was joseph and we got to hear in the weeks leading up to the program all about who was who – the kitties and kittens and shepherds,and mice they were all so sweet and excited!

the teachers and kiddos all worked so hard to prepare for the program and it was the most adorable thing ever.  the highlights for me were owen and his little buddy sitting in the back row prior to the program actually starting and shouting out ‘beef'!’ for no apparent reason! also, syd pulling her dress up and also picking her nose while on stage…yes. my kids are ‘those’ kids. and i wouldn’t have it any other way!!

we did also go visit santa at Home and Co as we have for the past couple years…owen was still a little apprehensive and syd was only ok with it if she sat on my lap…

Christmas Take 2 – Kole Christmas

 

We celebrated the Kole Christmas at the ‘Clubhouse’ with Great Gma and Gpa and all the Kole Clan….

marshmallow race…the kids had to race across the room with marshmallows on a spoon and fill their buckets as full as they could

the highlight of the even was the human snowman competition…all three families got to dress the dads up and great gma and great gpa were the judges of who did the best job decorating….

the rules….only use toilet paper and anything else you can find in the room to decorate…

Christmas Take 1 – Jesse Tree

My mom’s group decided this year to do a Jesse Tree craft exchange for Christmas.  Each of us put together a bag of three different days of December with a craft ornament for the kids to complete, a story to go along with the ornament, and short prayer.  We made multiples of each and all exchanged so we all ended up with each of the 25 days of ornaments to put on our trees….

The kids loved making their craft each day and listening to their story….

So proud of his ‘earth’ ornament and the story of the creation of  heaven and earth  :)

We made our tree from branches the kids collected out at grappys house and just put them in the bottom of a big pot I wasn’t using – then filled it with rocks….

Random Fun

 

So, since I’ve been such an incredible blog slacker lately…I’ve got a fun post in store for you here…a montage of randomness from the past few months!!

for a while syd’s thing was taking her pj pants off…one time she took her diaper off too – but thankfully she was only wet! 

i always peek at both kiddos each night and one night this is how i found her….so comfy!  

date night with mom and dad..we went to spring lake for dinner, then to watch the musical fountain in GH afterward…notice the lip from his zoo mishap? poor kid, hopefully it only looked worse than it felt, it got really dark purple!

so one day owen disappeared to use the bathroom and syd disappeared too…i got curious where she went and walked in the bathroom and found this…owen on the potty…syd sitting on the stool and reading to owen….beyond cuteness. (I’m sure they’ll love me some day for posting this, too!)

and last but not least…little miss and her ‘pilgrim hat’ that she made for thanksgiving…she wore it all night when we brought it hoe from school….. :)
