Little miss Sydney, crazy, sweet, fun-loving girl – hard to believe that FOUR years ago you were born!!!
What has this little ‘thing’ been up to lately?
She’s so observant and always thinking….
One day, we were looking at deer and syd says “those are mama deer - I know because they don’t wear horns”
Papa was at the Dr and when he came home, Syd said, Papa, maybe there is a treasure box for you to pick something out of. papa asked her, what do you think would be in that box for grownups? Syd replied: probably some underwear or dirty socks!
She loves to say prayers before dinner – and typically sings her school prayer “Thank you God for Loving Me” – but the other night she said: Dear God, thank you for all of this good stuff and all of this walking power and our family and for when there were dinosaurs then you didn’t make us yet!”
That kid is always thinking! and still loves dinosaurs :) Also, as far as the ‘walking power’ goes – I think its something from the show Super Why – where they talk about different kinds of power…she will sometimes just crumple in a heap and say – I have no more walking power….ay ay ay!
Over the summer gran took her for her first dentist appointment, she was pretty nervous at first …
then after she got decked out in her sunglasses, she was just fine!
A few funnies: For Easter, the Easter Bunny left a little note inside an egg on the table so the kids could find their Easter baskets. Syd promptly says “why did the Easter Bunny write me a note? I can’t even read!”
Watching owen play soccer and she watches the ref take off his sweatshirt - to reveal a yellow and black striped referee shirt - she exclaims (while pointing!) “I like that guy” (Still obsessed with bumble bees!!)
She traced around her hand at school with a marker and had quite a nice green outline around her fingers/hand when she came home - before bed, I tried to get it off and it wasn’t working so I said, look - it doesn’t come off and she says “because its remarkable” we had just been talking about washable markers :)
I walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth and had a black shirt and black yoga pants on for bedtime - syd shouts out, mama! you look like a ninja!
She loves carrying around little ‘pets’ (her stuffed animals) and she has a new favorite about every week.
She loves to read!! At the library:
Reading the drink menu out loud at Buffalo Wild Wings:
SO on to some birthday party pics and then some other randoms of her shenanigans…
She wanted a Sophia birthday party – so grandma and Kenzie made her a princess sophia cake – so cure!!
her own (princess) headphones!
and a karaoke machine/cd player for her new headphones
hanging out with her new bumble bee pillow!
mama and syd kinda got to celebrate together since our birthdays are so close together
blowing out the candles together!
checking out her new headphones!
round 2 – birthday at grans with Uncle Trav and Aunt Katy, Uncle Nathan and Greg and Al (and the kiddos)
Uncle Trav and Aunt Katy know her so well – Minnie Mouse wipes (the kid is obsessed with cleaning things up), jelly beans, and a can of black olives!!
Which was, by far, he favorite gift ever. lol.
Back to more random fun….
Taking a serious juice break after church
learning how to write her name:
our family (on the left in orange) – syd, owen, mama, and papa
remember syd’s fifi (her paci)? well, we found one in a drawer and she’s been asking to use it…she is also quite the fan of pretending she’s a baby! we had the bouncy chair out for watching Fiona and she thought it was great….
more of her wanting to be a baby…
more…she had me tuck her legs into her blanket…
and more…in her slippers and a tutu in a stroller
and for good measure…more baby ….lol!
She also likes to pretend play – with dress up clothes (as you probably saw in the baby pics above – she has on some sort of dress or skirt) ….AND she LOVES to dance….
she insisted on going to school like this one day
and HAD to try on the princess heels at target!
impromptu dressup at the dollar store
and a little curtsey (notice her hightops and skirt underneath?)
her ‘athletic wear’- she had to put on a sweat band and wrist bands…
Such a goofy goofy girl…acting like a little monkey
a bird on her perch…
rockin out some shades at the store
pjs, sunglasses, an umbrella and shoes on the wrong feet? perfect.
we went to visit gran and her friend on her boat at the marina and syd had to wear her goggles the whole way there!
made me wrap her blanket around her so she could read like that…
she has a serious case of jekyll / hyde too!!
sleeping with her dino flip flops on
you play hard…you gotta crash sometime, right?
sleeping with her little princess in her hand
such a sweet, sweet girl!! she loves everyone and is such a little cuddle bug…
and we gotta have our bear pictures!!
and we have a winner!
Love you sweet girl! Happy Birthday!
