Here and Now

Our holiday home project is almost complete - we've got just a few pieces of trim to put up and then paint the hallways and we are D-O-N-E done. The floor looks awesome thanks to my hubby's hard work!! The dogs on the other hand don't really feel the same about it - they hate sliding around. So I did what any good puppy mommy would do and took rugs from around the house to make a path from our bedroom, down the hallway, through the dining and kitchen and into the living room (I'll have to figure out an alternative once we get everything finished).

This normally would be quite a stretch for me, not having a plan in place, not knowing what exactly was going to happen. Not to mention living in the sort of chaos we are in right now; our dining room table consists one lonely chair, counters are strewn with hammers, tape measures, paint, and more, family room is uninhabitalbe due to the dining table and chairs and other odds and ends shoved inside from the project.

But I'm trying something different, I'm living in the now...not going to worry about when it's going to be done or what a mess we've got going on. I'm going to enjoy the project for the process that it is and when its done - we'll get there!! :)

Beyond that, just trying to recuperate from the holidays, crazy being back in the grind again...Little O struggled his first day back in the swing of things - just fussier than usual and not really sleeping. But he had a nice relaxing day with Grandma Kole all day today and took some awesome naps - so hopefully he'll get back on schedule!!

Right now O is in the bouncing stage, he loves to bounce and does this at any point, when you're holding him, he's sitting in your lap, or in his little activity center. He's also still talking up a blue streak(that one's for you, babe)...saying da da da da da all day long (how I long to hear mamama, or maybe not?!). He has recently started grabbing his feet and pulling off his socks or just holding his toes (he especially likes to do this in the middle of a diaper change).

Another thing he's doing (or I hope he will begin to do) is learn sign language. I recieved a signing book for Christmas; the idea of signing to my baby never really occured to me before, but once I read the book it really struck a chord with me and I thought I'd give it a try. Right now we're learning just three signs 'mommy', 'daddy', and 'eat'. We just started last week, so not much to report, other than its definitely something I have to really keep up with myself and remember to reinforce signs at appropriate times.

Here are some of the fun faces of O, the first two taken within seconds of eachother. The third just a priceless shot of him hammin' it up (he LOVES the camera!) - can you tell who dressed him this day?!?
