A couple of weekends ago, actually the weekend after my first week back at work, the fam headed up to the cottage (it was Sydney’s first trip there!). My mom joined us too, and Scott’s parent’s were also up there, much fun was had by all!
Mom Kole loves puzzles and does them quite a bit at the cottage, she even has a ‘puzzle photo album’ – my mom was gung-ho about doing a puzzle and her goal was to make it into the puzzle album! :)
Here are Owen and Gran on Saturday morning doing ‘the weekend puzzle’ together…
We (Gran, Grandma, the kids, and I) hit up some garage sales on Saturday – and scored a toy chest for outside toys – I LOVE garage sales! (more on that in a later post) We all took turns staying in the car with the kiddos and Grandma thought this was quite the photo op and she always has her camera handy! :)
Sydney had a little spit up issue at one point and had to get a sponge bath, since her little tubber was in the room Owen was napping in at the time. She didn’t mind!
She’s such a happy little girl! She did great at the cottage – slept about 6-7 hrs each night! and when we got there she was almost a week with NO poops and finally on Sunday, Grandma watched her for a little bit while my mom and I went to get some diapers at the store and we were gone not even when 10 minutes when she exploded. Actually it wasn’t that bad, all contained in the diaper even! Grandma has earned the title the ‘poop whisperer’!
Here’s Scott with a ‘whole mess of fish’ that he and Grandpa caught! We had a fish fry together the following week when we got home!
Grandma and Gran hard at work (notice the fine spectacles they are sporting?)
And sans spectacles!
Grandma and Sydney cuddling (there was lots of grandkid cuddling to be had this weekend, and the two grandmas didn’t even fight over them)!! :)
Grandpa and Owen playing ‘Whack-A-Mole’ Grandma and Grandpa babysat on Sat night while Gran, Scott, and I headed to the casino
Sydney playin with her new playmat…
I think she likes it!
We also had fun singing and dancing that weekend! Gran taught us a fine song ‘A Tooty Ta’ or something like that, basically you do something different (thumbs up, elbows back, tongue out, bottom’s back) each verse and sing ‘A tooty ta a tooty ta, a tooty ta ta’ – lots of entertainment for the kiddos (well, and for the adults!)…..
…..And the puzzle is complete (almost!) Notice Gran working on a remedial puzzle?!
On Sunday, Gran, Owen, Scott and I headed out on the boat, it was beautiful weather!!
Once again, we had an awesome time at the cottage! Can’t wait to get back again this summer! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for having us! and Thanks Gran, for coming along! :)
