I'm lazy so this will be a picture post...(You'll notice no helmet in the pics - Owen got an awful rash - poor little guy! So we're keeping the helmet off until the rash is totally cleared up...it's doing much much better and we're starting him back in his helmet tonight)...
Owen is getting too small for his 'baby' towels, so we got him a cute monkey towel a couple of weeks ago...here's dad trying it out and goin to get Owen w/ it on...

How Romantical
Ok so its official - we're awesome! We celebrated Valentine's day in style at none other than the Dutch wonderland of Russ'!
I will say, we did have a rather enjoyable evening and Russ' really did hit the spot (and with some snowcap pie to take home for later, how can you complain?!)
Granmuffin came over around 5 or so to hang out with Owen...
and Scott and I headed out on the town, we thought we would head over to Jude 3 to grab the new Third Day cd and check out the store, if you haven't been there, its a really neat store, and I'd recommend checking it out - they even have a cafe! mmmm, coffee!
After that we went to Hobby Lobby to stock up on all of our hobby needs (have a fun painting project for Owen in mind, will post later on that one!)...Then we headed over to Target. Once our shopping was done, we were HUNGRY, but every single place that sounded even remotely apetizing was standing room only, so we ended up at Russ' which suprisingly at 715 was quite busy, Scott and I couldn't help but comment about how we would have thought all the blue hairs would be fast asleep by that hour, but no...they were out and about at that hour! The blue hairs in the waiting room kept getting up to check their status on the sign in list, even though they had only been waiting for like five minutes. quite humorous!
We got home around 9 and it was good to get out and enjoy some time together (I feel like we never even see each other anymore!)
Oh, I can't forget to mention, my hubby also was super sweet and got me a nice card and a necklace for v-day! Little O got me a Willow figurine of mommy and baby....AND scott also MADE me a v-day gift, it was a joke gift, and oh so funny...has anyone seen this commercial?
well, here's nannerpus himself (isn't scott quite the artist, the little flag says "happy valentines day. love, nannerpus")...
Also, I just published a post that I started earlier this week with seven month pics of Owen w/ his froggy buddy - it will show up below the video of Owen that is right after this post ...

Seven Months
It's hard to believe, but Owen is seven months old already, seems like I was just doing the post for six months!!
Here he is with froggy buddy...
Pullin some faces...

Gettin so big..standing on his own...
Nice hat, er...hats (his helmet is underneath)...
Seems we've been so busy lately, but I'm not sure with what! Time just flies by so fast!!
Weather this week was great, so we took advantage of it one night after work and Scott was waiting for us in the driveway when we pulled in and we left right away for our walk - it was great to get some exercise and some fresh air! (though he doesn't look so enthused in the pic, Mr Murph did LOVE his walk!)...

When is Spring?!
Ok so I'll preface this post with a fair warning to those of you readers with weak stomachs. There is...eehm...lets put it this way...a picture of the worlds largest blowout featured below...enter post at your own risk!
We've been a house full of sickies! I ended up taking Owen to the Dr on Monday only to learn he had a double ear infection AND pinkeye! poor babe! and I have been struggling with a cold since last weekend, everything from stuffy nose and coughing to ear aches and fever - yuck!!
Poor little crusty eyes...
Owen is getting used to his helmet - beginning today he'll be wearing it for 23 hours each a day! What a sweet little trooper, between the helmet, the sickness and also some changes at his daycare - he's really been hangin in there!!
Also, the antibiotic he's on is giving him some bowel troubles : ( look at what Scott had fun with while mom was out at the doctor....
uh oh that stain looks like it could be trouble...
literally splatters up to his armpits! yuck! (glad I wasn't there!!) notice how pleased he looks with himself?!
Not much else to report, as we've been pretty much housebound. Scott has managed to dodge the bug which is great for both him and I - as he's been an awesome help around the house and with Owen, as I try to recuperate!!
A few of Owen's fun things to do...
Thinks anything new is the best thing ever (think paint stirrer or mini flashlight) - with new toy in tow he is completely enthralled for at least 20 minutes, staring at it and waving it around and turning it over and over.
Last weekend, he started reaching out for me with both arms for me to hold him
Puckers his lips and makes blowing sounds
Has a CRAZY laugh thing goin on...
Twirls his tongue (another reason I think a little chomper will be out in no time)...
He loves to read and be read to...
In the bath, he tries to lean over and lick the front of the tub and he LOVES to try to catch water in his mouth when we're rinsing his hair
He is just a sweet precious boy!!

Baby Quarterback

...and just in time for the Super Bowl! My little babe's skull isn't shaped correctly, hence the helmet. He'll wear it 23 hrs a day for the next 3-5 months. Right now we're just easing him into wearing it all day so he wears it a couple hours and then has it off for an hour.
I think it bothers me much more than it bothers him...I cried the first time he put it on. He just smiled and acted all cute like normal...Scott and I think the hemet needs some flair to jazz it up a bit!!
This weekend, O is sick again, he has a cold :( His poor little eyes are gooping up and getting all crusty and his nose is runny.... However in typical Owen fashion, he is still a little trooper - just sooooo tired! .jpg)
In other weekend happenings...Friday, Scott had the day off, since his work is now on 32 hour weeks, so he went out ice fishing in Allegan and caught quite a few Walleye...here he is with the prized catch of the day...we baked it for dinner tonight and it was so good!!
Also this weekend, we finally found a Wii Fit! I got a chance to check out the Wii Fit at Heidi's house earlier this week - he went and picked up dinner and hung out at her house playing Wii Fit like a couple of little kids. We had such a fun time with it and I knew I really wanted to get one. So Scott, being the awesome husband that he is, went to Best Buy this morning in search of the elusive Wii Fit....He said almost everyone in the store had one in their carts (they got a shipment of them in last night) and he didn't think there would be any more left, but there two on the shelf - yea! I've had fun with it today - and especially like the yoga portion of it, and of course the fun games (the soccer game is my favorite!)
Well enough for now, I think I'm coming down with a cold too - so I'd better go get some zzz's, cuz who knows how well O will sleep tonight!

Milestones and More...
We've had such a fun and relaxing weekend, especialy compared to last weekend!!
Last weekend started out on the wrong foot to begin with because on Thursday...I began the day discovering that the contents of my purse had been stolen! So basically I spent the morning at home calling in fraud alerts, putting passwords on my bank accounts, reporting the incident to the police, and anything else I could think of to protect myself. I guess the positive aspect of things is that my purse was NOT stolen, I am positive it was a man who stole my things, because any woman would know a COACH purse and wallet when she saw one! :)
Friday my day began discovering Owen had thrown up all over in his crib...he had the flu!! Needless to say both Scott and I also got it, so you can already see where we go from there...The bummer was that it was Scott's friend Andy's wedding day on Saturday, and he was the best man - I made it to the wedding but had to go home afterwards and Scott made it almost to the end of the reception....The wedding was beautiful we just wish we would have felt better!! :(
So needless to say, this weekend was nice not to have theivery or sickness in our midst! Scott worked on the kitchen/dining some while Owen and I went on an outing to Grandville yesterday afternoon. Then last night Granmuffin watched O, while Scott and I went to Kelly and Steve's to hang out with them along with Greg and Alyson! We had a great time talking, pigging out and playing Wii (we are such awesome rockstars!) Today, I was able to sleep in until 9:30, which was awesome! Thanks, Scott! :) And we plan to spend the rest of the day just laying low and doing nothing!
I've been meaning to put a little list of milestones and/or other things Owen has been doing at roughly 6 1/2 months, but haven't gotten around to it, so here we go...
6 mo stats: 19 lbs; 27 inches tall
turns on the mobile in his crib in the mornings on his own
puts his pacifier in his mouth on his own
loves his feet/toes
possibly starting to get some chompers in his little mouth
sitting up on his own
eats cereal/sweet potatoes, applesauce, mixed veggies
discovered that splashing is something he has control over in the bath
able to grab small things with thumb and forefinger
has object permanence (he remembers something is/was there even after its gone)
And of course what blog entry would be complete without some pics of the little man himself...
Little drummer boy, he thinks he's too cool with his drum (he should have joined our band last night!)...
Bath time - he loves to play with the bottle of soap...
Snow baby...all bundled up...
We took him out for his first ride in the sled he got from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas (thank you for the fun gift!)...we just went up and down the driveway a few times, but he loved it!
Thawing out...
