How is it so? she’s one!!
yup, its true! this teeny tiny babe
has grown into this little girl in just one short year!
At age ONE, Sydney is such a happy little girl
Her stats are 19lbs 12 oz (25th percentile), 29 1/2 inches tall (60th percentile) and her head is 97th percentile (again, all those brains)
She is wearing size 3 diapers and mostly 12 mo clothes
She is starting to say a few ‘words’ and will mimic a lot of sounds, right now she says ball (ba), dog (da), and has also said papa a time or two and says mama quite often when she’s upset
She just LOVES Murphy! and he loves her too, just lets her hang on him and she loves to give him hugs!!
She also LOVES her dinner – eating is one of her favorite pass times (definitely her mother’s daughter! ha!) She is our little eating machine and we often wonder if she ever feels full! She loves lima beans, green beans, carrots, peas, watermelon, cheerios, cheese, and the list goes on and on! 
She has been through her share of sicknesses; stomach flu, a few awful colds, and her second round of ear infections that we’re now on the third antibiotic trying to get rid of!!
She is really starting to study people’s faces and mimic them, or she does things that others do (covers her eyes, claps, snores) One weekend while Owen was napping, papa took a nap on the couch while Syd and I played. Papa started snoring loudly, so syd put her head down on the floor on her blankie and started snoring too - soooo cute!
She loves to give hugs and will put her head down on your shoulder when you ask her to give you one, then she says “awwwwww”
She started pulling herself up to her knees to check things out and is crawling like crazy! Still not standing yet.
She LOVEs to give high fives
When its just not quite the right time to take a nap for her, she will throw her paci out of her crib and scream and scream until you go get it for her, the minute i walk in there, she is magically super happy and then typically goes to sleep (just had to win a quick power struggle to feel accomplished enough for a nap, I guess)
She has started to blow kisses – she sprawls her little hand across her mouth and makes a cute little noise
She loves to shake her head and Owen will shake his head like crazy just to get her to shake her head
She has this crazy screech thing she does and screeches like mad when she is excited
She also growls/roars. when she sees a picture of a lion or other big animal she will roar at it but she also just growls at random times too
When she has something in her hand and you are changing her , she will switch it from hand to hand depending on what hand you are trying to put in her sleeve and all you have to do is say “switch hands”
She likes to head butt – when you’re playing with her on the ground she’ll just crawl over to you and bang her head into you
She LOVES to cuddle!
She is such a little loveable goof ball! Here she is sporting some cute hair with a nice little pudding goatee!! LOVE her cute little faces she pulls!!!
She’s definitely getting some more teeth in lately and seems to be biting a lot
Books and music are a definite favorite! She loves to dance and when she’s reading she loves to slams her books shut – her way of turning pages
When she is holding something, she will hand it over to you and when you say “thank you” to her she thinks she is so cool, then she will quick snatch it back
We celebrated her birthday this past Saturday and had a fun get together with friends and fam! She had so much fun at her party!

Gran and Grandma made some fun banners
Grandma made Syd’s cake (a giant cupcake) and Owen is showing us just how big it is…
We had grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, ants on a log, and finger jello to eat and Gran, Grandma and Aunt Mary were the sandwich makers (well thanks to the help of George)

Her party was so fun and thanks to everyone who helped out to make it that way!! I appreciate everything that everyone did to make it a special day for Sydney, she is so blessed to have such awesome family and friends!!! She loved all of her fun toys and clothes and is truly one spoiled little girl!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!
A fun thing I thought I’d do was get a pic of Syd and I and put them together just to see the resemblance (or lack thereof)This is me at almost 9 months and Syd at almost one year in the same dress; other than that dress, there is no resemblance!
And what milestone blog post would be complete without Sydney with her little bear friend…
I also made a collage of all of her monthly shots…we had this blown up and hung it at her party too….My FAVES are month four and nine! Notice she has the same shirt on in months seven and eleven?

Looks like a great party, sorry we missed it. We will be home for Tulip Time and will have to hook up then for some good old elephant ears. Love You Guys
