Christmas with Families

On Christmas day, we headed to my mom’s house to celebrate Christmas together and on the day after Christmas, we went to Scott’s parents house to celebrate with them

So here we are Christmas morning…after we celebrated our Christmas as our little family of four, we headed over to my mom’s house in the morning….

So, my brothers have this random tradition of wearing sweaters with collared shirts and slicking their hair back….owen has to join in the fun too – so here they are….(with Flick in the background)

Eating breakfast… Owen soooo trying act uninterested, but is soooo excited about

opening gifts!  and little syd looks like she’s up to no good! …. :)

A Michigan jersey from uncle Travis – sooooo proud! Scott reading his poem…each year, it seems like scott gets something from her that is too big to wrap, so she writes him a poem and wraps it up…this year’s poem was hilarious!

After naps, owen and uncle travis built a gingerbread house!  syd had to join in the fun too! Gran bought a cardboard playhouse and lots of art supplies for the kiddos and it kept them quite busy!  uncle travis even hung out in there with him!  owen is hard at work drawing on the wall while syd is hard at work drawing on owens back….while uncle looks on with a smile….nice.

we had a fun time spending the day with everyone…and the kiddos slept sooooo good that night! 

good thing, because we had another fun filled day ahead of us the next day at grandma and grandpa’s!

after a yummy breakfast, the kids got to be little elves and hand out presents, they were sooo excited and busy!  this pic is so sweet of syd and dylan carrying a giant gift together!!

wow, that bag has feet!  yup that’s little syd carrying the big bag! (notice owen sooo concentrated at reading the name tag? he did so good with that!)

one of owen’s gifts was a scooter from kenz, dylan, aunt jen, and uncle paul…he was so excited about it!  and since we didn’t have a white christmas, why not try it out!!! :) 

dylan got a helicopter for christmas and the cousins had an awesome time taking turns flying (er, crashing) it together!

we had a great time together and after a fun-filled day, the kids all crashed on the couch….sounded pretty good, so i had to join in!
