With Owen’s curly hair, I’ve #1; gotten away with letting his hair grow out pretty long before looking too shaggy, and #2; have been able to cut it on my own when it did start looking bad….
but those days were over….his hair is getting super thick and the last time i tried cutting it myself, it looked awful…so i thought we’d go all out and get him his first ‘real’ haircut – and take a huge risk and cut off all those sweet little curls (after all, they’ll grow back,right?)…..Jen and I were talking over Christmas and she mentioned she was bringing Dylan in to get his hair cut, so I thought it was the perfect time to get Owen’s hair cut, so could watch his cousin first and not freak out when it was his turn (he has a tendency NOT to like much that is really new to him)….so we tried it out….he did AWESOME…he did choose to sit on my lap, which was fine…and he laughed when she used the razor and sat so still….it helped a lot that dylan was there with us and that Crystal was super nice and sweet with Owen!
i can’t believe how grown up he looks now! while its so hard to see all those curls gone, i’m really glad we did it for something different!
