six years – seems like yesterday I found out I was pregnant for this little guy and now he’s practically an adult! lol. he is growing up fast though. too fast for me sometimes!
What has he been up to this past year?
He LOVED school and being a kindergartener – although we had our fair share of trials through the year with typical little boy behaviors at school…
he ended up doing just great and he LOVES to learn. He especially loves making number rolls (on old adding machine paper) he has gone up over 300 all on one (taped many times together) roll
He has learned how to read and counts by 1s, 5s, 10s, to 100+. He likes if you make up little worksheets for him to do
One of the other things he learned was how to draw a star he practiced and practiced forever on a sheet of paper until he got it!
Here’s an example of his writing! all sounded out on his own!
He’s such a kind little guy – he earned two dollars for helping clear trees/brush @ grans and gran found 3 dollars in the dryer that she gave to him - plus 25 cents he found on the ground and the next day - papa backed into my van and his hitch made a decent hole in the front bumper - owen saw it and was very concerned - he asked, mama, do you need a new car ? i can give you my money..i have 5 dollars and 25 cents! such a sweet boy
He is such a helper and really loves to help and teach sydney. One day - was helping syd with deodorant (they pretend to put it on) while i am in the shower – he says no syd, not on your belly, no not like that! not on your elbows either, here like this, under your arms
He loves playing games - uno is a favorite
He’s also pretty into battleship and loves to play games on PBS kids on the computer
He is such a smart kid…sometimes too smart for his own good. and just funny/witty! one morning, I offered my bagel to him.... he says ‘why do you think we want it? giving people stuff, like a garage sale...garage sale food!’
He has his little buddies at school - jackson, krue, adam, andrew – here he is at one of their birthday parties. he is such an observer and stubborn too – at this party – he wouldn’t let me leave – so I agreed to stay, but he wouldn’t participate until he had watched for quite a while – at the pool he didn’t end up going in until there was only like five more minutes left to swim because he had to just take it all in and watch what was going on and get comfortable with it first. kind of like his mom on that one! :)
He played soccer again this spring - he had a blast!
In June – he learned how to ride a two wheel bike at grans! all it took was two tries - he was a sudden pro
One of the things he loves to do is have sleepovers with scott and I – basically, we play games, make forts, do rainbow loom bracelets, eat junk food and either scott or I sleeps in his room with him…this is us in our fort one sleepover night!
He is also super creative – he loves to draw and color…
he’s a tad obsessed with his rainbow loom
do wacky things like stack cheerios on a straw – just because
make stuff fro mega blocks…
and create little forts/getaways in random places….
or finding a comfy spot…(this was at Goodwill – I looked over at him and this is what i found…) :)
with a summer birthday – he likes to celebrate his half birthday – especially now that he’s in school – so that he can bring in a birthday treat for everyone – so we went all out this year and I even baked him a cake for his half birthday!
I love his little face in this picture
For his actual birthday, he invited his friend jackson to crazy bounce, then mcdonalds for dinner and to capt sundae for dessert to celebrate
We were in the midst of remodeling during his birthday, but still celebrated at our new house! We surprised him with a trampoline and gran bought balloons with the number six on them that we tied on a path through the house and to the back yard where his trampoline was all set up and ready for him!
His card and some cash from Aunt mary (he calls her Aunt Grandma)
This year’s theme for his cake from grandma was American Ninja Warrior (one of his favorite shows to watch)…grandma went all out creating an obstacle course right on the cake for him!
playing with cousins
eating by the campfire
Some of the other gifts he got were, a basket ball, jump rope, under armour shirt, necklace, sid the science kid video …what a spoiled kid!
and without further adieu…froggy buddy photo op!
In this first pic, he made all of his frogs pose with him!
Such a handsome little guy!
so proud of you, buddy! you’re such a smart, sweet, kind little boy – and we love you more than you love under armour! ha! :)
