Little Tick turned 30 this year!!
and any milestone like this is just an excuse to party! so Katy and I put our heads together and planned out a big surprise for him.
We got him over to our new house – actually on the weekend that we bought it – by having scott invite him to go Salmon fishing. Scott picked him up and they were ‘stopping by the house to get some stuff together for the boat and then were going to head out’
We were all lining the drive way to surprise him!!
We went for a baseball theme – since he’s a big Tigers fan…we were even able to dig up some fun old pictures that we used in our decorations!!
Labels for the bags we used to put popcorn in
Pennants we made to decorate the tables
Chalkboard scoreboard decoration (scott found this at a garage sale for us)
and the moment of surprise…..
there he is (in the green shirt – we handed him a big mug of beer on his way up the driveway)
more decorations – it worked out so good – we just had everything all set up in the barn – which gave us a lot of room and we didn’t need to worry about using the house.
We took an old baseball card and blew it up and made it into a happy birthday sign. we were going to cut the face out for a photo prop for people to stand behind, but thought this was just as fun
more stuff
a more recent pic of him that we had out by the grill
the photo board that Katy made of all kinds of fun pictures of him in the shape of the number 30!
Katy had a shirt made up for him that we made him put on…he’s just trying to take it all in
hanging out by the campfire
kids got to drive around on the gator while adults played hillbilly golf and corn hole
sparklers!!
Tick and his buddies!
tick’s old baseball card….
he decided to reenact the whole thing…lol…
lots of talking and fun and laughs
it was a great night celebrating a great guy!
