Hard to believe my little man is FIVE already!! :)
So what has he been up to lately?!
He is very observant and also likes to correct people when he knows something! …back in January we went to the ENT for a check up and Owen saw a guy in a suit with a trench coat...he goes “looks like that man’s ready for church” ….then - syd, owen and i were talking one night and syd said something about playing on the play ground and said: “then, i runned away” instantly, Owen chimes in “ran away” to correct her!
Back in December – he learned to snap his fingers, to whistle and to blow bubbles – he’s so proud of himself!
Is very particular about what he wears and LOVES shorts – he sorta gets obsessed with people he sees in shorts or with no jacket on - we saw a boy with shorts at the dr too - so when he was telling gran later in the day about his appt, the very first thing he has to tell her is “we saw a boy wearing shorts”
He loves Jesus and loves to pray – here’s a sample prayer: thank you for this day and for our friends and family, be happy with what you have, don’t ask for more snacks and say you’re always hungry. amen. (do you think he is repeating what he’s heard throughout the day?! Back during Valentine’s day, I told owen “valentines day is for love, and i love you!” he replied “and I love Jesus!”
loves watching papa get ready and put gel in his hair....says all proud “when i grow up i gonna be just like papa so i can be a boy and put jelly in my hair’
When we go out to dinner – I will order Sprite for the kids as a little treat – but I order it ‘watered down’ – Owen put his order in one and ordered it ‘watered up’ :)
Loves Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – calls them ‘Tooma-nit-na ninja turtles’
He’s all boy and loves being a monster, superhero, playing sports, and just being up to no good! :)
Has the best memory – he will remind me when library books or videos are due and he is usually always correct!! He is super thoughtful – always looking out for Syd too – once when I took him to the library - he was like – look at this mama, Syd would like this (it was an Arthur dinosaur book)
He still loves his froggy! I found this picture on my phone – he will come and grab it in the mornings and play games on the weekend – and he must have thought froggy needed to be tucked in :)
5 year appt Stats: (8/26/13) 45” tall - 85th percentile / 48.7 lbs - 88th percentile
To celebrate his birthday – we were up at the cottage….

We took owen downtown to pick out boogie board –that gran had given him money to buy for his birthday – and when we got back to the cottage – Grandma had it all decorated for him!! :)

it was a great weekend – with great weather too! and a certain little FIVE year old had the time of his life :)
